Initiated by NRI families to ensure their parents aren’t lacking care and to alleviate concerns about their well-being, OmSeva provides comprehensive support. Often, parents refrain from divulging health concerns or unpleasant updates to their children. OmSeva lovingly supports all elderly individuals, whether they have children or not, making sure every senior feels cherished and cared for.
We aim to reduce the loneliness of these older adults and assure them of the care and safety they deserve in their advancing years.
1. Home Repair Services
OmSeva generally does not arrange home repair services such as plumbing or electrical work. However, we understand that unexpected needs may arise. In such cases, we can assist Seva-Seekers in arranging these services if required as part of the care plan.
2. Role of Care Buddies
Care Buddies are not maids. They visit Seva-Seekers based on the plan chosen by their kin to oversee their needs. While Care Buddies may occasionally join in a meal or help with cooking, they are not cooks. Additionally, OmSeva does not assist in finding maids or cooks.
3. Service Availability
OmSeva is not a 24/7 help service. Although Care Buddies will be there for Seva-Seekers during emergencies, we do not provide round-the-clock services. Service days and hours are predetermined and fixed.
4. Medical Services
OmSeva does not arrange for nurses or doctors for home visits. Care Buddies will assist in taking Seva-Seekers to medical appointments or scheduling these appointments.
5. Security Services
OmSeva Care Buddies are not security guards, and OmSeva does not arrange for security personnel.
Our care buddies are committed to ensuring the well-being and comfort of care-seeking families through comprehensive support. They conduct regular visits, at least three times a week, to assess living conditions and address immediate needs. During these visits, they check essential items like groceries, assist with shopping if needed, and ensure families can manage their own errands whenever possible. They also inspect the household for repair needs, ensure the presence of domestic help, and verify a stable electricity supply to maintain a safe environment.
Care buddies coordinate medical appointments and medication refills, acting as a link between families and healthcare providers to facilitate seamless communication and access to services. They are also instrumental in ensuring the swift availability of healthcare providers in case of medical emergencies. They monitor vital health signs, providing timely support or intervention if necessary. Additionally, they offer companionship and emotional support, engaging in activities like having tea, playing games, and conversing to foster a sense of connection and reduce loneliness.
Thus, our care buddies do more than just regular check-ins. They show a true commitment to the overall well-being of families. With their dedicated efforts and personalized help, they create a caring space where families feel appreciated, supported, and empowered.

Through organized outings and gatherings, care buddies help families expand their social circles and build new friendships, providing opportunities for social interaction outside the immediate caregiving environment.
